Elevate Your Small Business with CEO Days

Webinar hosted by: Certified Dubsado Specialist Ashley Tindall

Running a business is more than just serving clients. It’s about making strategic decisions, planning for growth, and taking care of yourself in the process. But with the daily hustle of client work, how often do you set aside time to work on your business instead of just in it?

That’s where CEO days come in.

During our recent webinar, Ashley Tindall, a Certified Dubsado Specialist and CEO of Solution Integrators, shared how implementing CEO days transformed her business. She walked us through why they’re essential, how to structure them, and how to make them a sustainable part of your routine.

If you missed the live session, here’s everything you need to know to start implementing CEO days in your business today.

What is a CEO day?

A CEO day is dedicated time—whether it’s a full day, a half day, or just a few focused hours—where you step away from client work and focus on the strategic side of your business. This could include:

  • Planning upcoming projects

  • Reviewing your financials

  • Creating content and marketing plans

  • Streamlining systems and automations

  • Professional development

  • Networking and business growth activities

Essentially, it’s a time to move the needle in your business beyond the day-to-day client work tasks.

Why CEO days are a game-changer

Ashley shared how, in her corporate career, Wednesdays were packed with back-to-back calls that she dreaded. When she transitioned to full-time entrepreneurship, she reclaimed Wednesdays as her CEO day—a time to reset, strategize, and build her business instead of drowning in client work.

CEO days can help you:

  • Stay proactive instead of reactive – Instead of constantly putting out fires, you’ll have a structured time to plan ahead.

  • Make intentional business decisions – Whether it’s refining your offers, adjusting your pricing, or setting goals, you’ll have time to think strategically.

  • Avoid burnout – Giving yourself permission to step away from client work can help you recharge and prevent burnout.

  • Ensure long-term sustainability – Running a business isn’t just about today’s tasks. It’s about building a strong foundation for the future.

How to structure your CEO day

Your CEO day should be unique to you, but Ashley recommends starting with a few key components:

1. Pick a consistent time

Choose a day or time block each week (or month) to dedicate to CEO tasks. Some people prefer Mondays to start the week with intention, while others choose Fridays to wrap up strong. If a full day feels overwhelming, start with a half day or even an hour a day. Once you build consistency, you’ll find it easier to pivot your CEO day to different times or days when needed—without losing momentum.

2. Create a CEO day ritual

Make it something you look forward to! Start with a coffee at your favorite café, take a midday walk, or treat yourself to a nice lunch. The goal is to shift into a CEO mindset and make the day feel different from regular workdays.

3. Have a plan for what you’ll work on

Without a plan, it’s easy to slip back into emails or client work. Try structuring your CEO day with categories:

  • Financial check-in: Review invoices, payments, and expenses.

  • Marketing & content: Plan your social media, emails, or upcoming launches.

  • Business development: Connect with potential partners, review your offers, or explore new tools.

  • Personal growth: Read a business book, take a course, or reflect on your goals.

4. Set boundaries

Treat your CEO day like a non-negotiable appointment. Let clients and team members know you’re unavailable, and set an autoresponder if needed.

5. Reflect & celebrate

At the end of your CEO day, take a moment to reflect: What did you accomplish? What’s next? Celebrate your progress—this is an investment in your business and yourself.

Make CEO days a habit

Ashley’s biggest takeaway? Consistency is key. The more you commit to CEO days, the more you’ll see the impact on your business. Whether you’re scaling, launching something new, or just trying to stay organized, CEO days create the space to make it happen.
